    Roles and Responsibilities

To become a Certification Body (CB), follow the steps below

Eligibility

In addition to basic requirements, a CB must meet at least the following conditions:

  • Maintain accreditation from an IAF MLA signatory body for ISO/IEC 17021‑1–based ISO 9001 certification for at least five years.
  • No suspensions or cancellations of accreditation in the past three years.
  • No issuance, in the past ten years, of unaccredited, false, or misleading certificates.
  • No ownership or legal linkage with another ASQMS CB.
  • Maintain appropriate liability insurance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent ASQMS audits for organizations to verify compliance.
  • Manage certified auditors to ensure audit integrity and consistency.
  • Regular evaluations and audits by the management office to maintain accreditation.
